Arrowhead Game Studios has unveiled the patch notes for the most recent update of Helldivers 2, detailing numerous enhancements and addressing key issues reported by players. Following this update, players can look forward to an improved gameplay experience.
Arrowhead has recently wrapped up a comprehensive 60-day initiative aimed at rebalancing Helldivers 2 after receiving significant backlash from the community regarding previous adjustments. Responding to the discontent and review-bombing on Steam, the developers committed to revising their approach, and they have delivered on that promise.
On October 15, the studio launched update 1.001.104, effectively resolving controversies stemming from prior unwanted nerfs. While this update was not part of the initial 60-day plan, it further enhances the player experience.
The latest patch, version 01.001.201, introduces a variety of fixes for persistent top-priority issues in Helldivers 2. According to the detailed patch notes, players can expect significant improvements that will alleviate frustration during gameplay. Notably, Arrowhead has resolved several issues that made hive breaker drills and mission terminals inaccessible, along with addressing menu bugs and matchmaking problems. Additionally, the update corrects instances of excessive ragdoll physics and improperly functioning weapons.
In addition to numerous fixes, the update introduces some balance changes. The lifetime of the Shield Generator Relay has been extended by 10 seconds, and the SG-8P Punisher Plasma has been restored to its pre-update stats in response to player requests. Recently, the developers also addressed a popular query regarding the potential for an Xbox port of Helldivers 2. Arrowhead expressed interest but noted that the final decision lies with the parties involved, leaving fans eager for a resolution.
As a live service game that continually evolves, Helldivers 2 is poised to build on the momentum gained from its recent rebalancing efforts. - Following community demand, the production changes made in Patch 01.001.104 have been reverted.
- The projectile now has a more noticeable arc, starting slower and maintaining speed longer, which will affect recoil, fire rate, and projectile behavior.
- Magazine capacity increased from 8 to 10.
- Fixed an issue causing encounters to remain ongoing with enemy spawning disabled for the remainder of the mission.
- Resolved the inaccessibility of hive breaker drills upon deployment.
- Fixed mission terminal functionality issues preventing mission completion.
- Dead bodies of Chargers no longer launch Helldivers into the air.
- Supply packs are no longer used when the d-pad down button is pressed while calling in a stratagem.
- QWERTY keyboard numpad bindings now save correctly after a game restart.
- The Service Technician is no longer mourning her deceased pet goldfish “Goldie,” allowing for interaction again. Goldie received a proper farewell, laid to rest in a waste capsule that was ejected into the nearest planet's atmosphere, where it met a fiery end.
- Other players can now join a lobby via Quickplay after any member of a 4-player party leaves.
- Resolved an issue causing the social menu to remain stuck on ‘Please Wait Democratically’ for some users.
- Games marked "Invite Only" are no longer visible on the Galactic War Map and cannot be joined.
- Fixed a problem allowing uninvited friends to join Invite-Only games via the Social Menu.
- Invite-only lobbies no longer appear in the hologram.
- Fixed a crash occurring on Difficulty 1 (Trivial) when approaching certain bug holes.
- Resolved a potential soft-lock when abandoning a mission with the squad while engaged with bugs.
- Fixed a soft-lock issue that could occur during the Geological Survey mission when players joined or left.
- Addressed a soft-lock that could happen if a player joined a game during the mission summary while all peers left.

- Fixed an issue that prevented progression in the Nuke Nursery mission if two players deployed the drill simultaneously.
- Resolved an issue preventing movement when the menu was opened while the Emote wheel was active.
- Fixed Nuke Nursery terminals that were sometimes not interactable.
- Resolved excessive ragdolling when diving or crawling on uneven terrain. Further solutions to the ragdolling issues are in development.
- Fixed a bug where the stim pistol incorrectly affected the STIMS USED statistic at the mission's end.
- Fixed dead corpses triggering rockets from the RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher.
- Resolved an issue with stratagem cooldowns allowing players to call down multiple resupplies or Hellbombs simultaneously.
- Fixed a problem where switching to a grenade while picking up an artillery shell caused it to become stuck in the Helldivers' hands.
- The LAS-5 Scythe scope is now fully operational, allowing correct zoom functionality.
- Empty expendable weapons can no longer be picked up or holstered.
- The AR-23A Liberator Carbine now features a reduced reload duration from 3 to 2.5 seconds and has the correct magazine unit.
- Fixed a missing mesh for the P-11 Stim Pistol's syringes.
- The MG-43 Machine Gun now has a reload duration reduced to 4.5 seconds instead of the previously stated 3.5 seconds.
- The gas confusion effect on the Impaler has been disabled due to odd behavior with its tentacles.
- Fixed an issue where the Impaler's tentacles would sometimes fail to impact their targets.
- Adjusted the pathing for Shriekers in tight spaces, enabling them to navigate around tall obstacles more effectively.
- Fixed Nuke Nursery drills dropping onto bug corpses.
- Reduced the number of Retrieve Data objectives spawning in missions for Automatons to align with those for Terminids.
- The Escape Pod objective will now appear on difficulties 1-2 instead of 2-3.
- The Terminid eggs in Purge Hatcheries are now properly tagged as objectives with correct voiceovers and icons.
- Fixed an issue causing Hellpods to land underground during 'Nuke Nurseries' missions.
- Resolved an issue in the Blocked Players tab where adding a player through search incorrectly indicated that the user was blocked.
