During the 2024 Halloween Splatfest in Splatoon 3, players were invited to choose a fantasy role, with options including Wizard, Knight, and Ninja. The outcome was decisive, as Team Ninja, supported by Deep Cut’s Big Man, emerged victorious with a significant lead.
The Halloween Splatfest took place over a month after the kickoff of Drizzle Season 2024, which commenced with the September Grand Festival. This event was touted as the largest Splatfest in Splatoon 3 history, featuring the Squid Sisters, Off the Hook, and Deep Cut, each rallying behind a different team. The Squid Sisters supported Team Past, Off the Hook backed Team Present, while Deep Cut championed Team Future. In the end, Team Past triumphed with 500 points. How the results from the Grand Festival will impact the setting for Splatoon 4 remains to be seen.
The Halloween Splatfest allowed Splatoon 3 players to envision their roles in a fantastical world. Among the Deep Cut trio, Shiver championed Team Wizard, Frye backed Team Knight, and Big Man chose Team Ninja. At halftime, Team Ninja led in Clout with 33.97%, closely followed by Team Knight at 33.21% and Team Wizard at 32.82%. The final results were tightly contested. Team Wizard secured first place in both Conch Shells and Votes, while Team Ninja closely trailed in these categories. Team Wizard achieved a Conch Shell score of 33.72%, just 0.04% ahead of Team Ninja’s 33.68%. However, Team Ninja excelled in Clout (Open), Clout (Pro), and Tricolor (Open). Team Knight nearly clinched the Clout (Open) category with a score of 33.53%, just shy of Team Ninja’s 33.61%, a mere 0.08% difference.
- First Place: Team Ninja (Big Man) with 500 points.
- Second Place: Team Wizard (Shiver) with 250 points.
- Third Place: Team Knight (Frye) with 120 points.
The victories across three events were sufficient for Big Man’s Team Ninja to claim the top spot with 500 points. This marked Big Man's first win in a Splatoon 3 Splatfest since the July 2024 Summer Nights event. Team Wizard finished in second with 250 points, while Team Knight came in third with 120 points. Following the Splatfest, Nintendo reminded participants to collect their Super Sea Shells.
While Splatfests will continue to run in Splatoon 3, the recent Grand Festival signified the conclusion of major support for the game, as Nintendo shifts its focus to its upcoming successor console. Only time will reveal when Splatoon will make its debut on Nintendo’s next system.
