Nintendo has announced exciting updates regarding Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, including its release date set for December 3, 2024. Fans of the beloved mobile game Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp have been eagerly awaiting this news since the announcement of the game's impending shutdown this summer.
In late August, the community faced disappointment when Nintendo confirmed that the free mobile title Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp would cease operations on November 28, after seven successful years. While Nintendo assured players that they could transfer their data to a new Animal Crossing mobile game set to launch in the future, specifics were limited, leading many fans to share their concerns and cherished memories on social media. Thankfully, Nintendo has now provided comprehensive details about the forthcoming replacement for Pocket Camp, including pricing and new gameplay features.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete will be available for download on December 3 for both iOS users via the App Store and Android users through Google Play. Unlike the original free-to-play version released in 2017, Pocket Camp Complete will be a paid title, priced at $9.99 until January 31, 2025, after which the cost will increase to $19.99.
This new version will operate completely offline and will not include any in-app purchases. However, players can look forward to an extensive collection of items from the original game, which ran for seven years, along with seasonal events. Nintendo has confirmed that Pocket Camp Complete will feature over 10,000 items.
In addition to the return of familiar Animal Crossing characters and classic gameplay, this new mobile version will introduce several exciting features. Players will have the opportunity to create Camper Cards, which can be shared with others in-game via QR codes. Once a friend’s Camper Card is registered, they will randomly appear at the Whistle Pass, a new location in Pocket Camp Complete that will also host live guitar performances. Participating in events will earn players Complete Tickets, which can be redeemed for exclusive fortune cookie items. Nintendo has announced that new events and items will continue to be added to the game at least until September 2025.
Players can easily transfer their current campsite by linking their existing Pocket Camp save data to a Nintendo Account. To do this, they must log into Pocket Camp Complete using the same account. All friendship levels with animals, Bells, furniture, crafting materials, outfits, and campsite layouts will be transferred, though Leaf Tickets will no longer be valid. Players have until November 29 to link their Pocket Camp data with their Nintendo account.
The Animal Crossing franchise continues to be one of Nintendo's most cherished series, experiencing a significant revival following the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons in 2020. This Switch title has sold over 45 million copies worldwide, making it the second best-selling game on the console, following Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Consequently, many fans are speculating about the possibility of a sequel to Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Nintendo’s next console.
