Disney Dreamlight Valley has kicked off its 2024 Trick or Treat event, offering players the chance to unlock a unique Halloween-themed item. Although the annual celebration has arrived later than some fans anticipated, it marks the third consecutive year of spooky festivities in the game.

Initially launched in December 2023, Disney Dreamlight Valley allows players to create their own villages filled with beloved Disney characters. The Trick or Treat event has been a staple since the Early Access phase, which began in the fall of 2022. Earlier this month, Gameloft, the game's developers, shared exciting plans for the October update. While the introduction of the Jungle Getaway content enabled players to engage with characters like Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King and introduced a new rock music-themed Star Path, the initial update did not mention the Trick or Treat event.

Shortly after, a second update confirmed the Halloween festivities, and the Trick or Treat celebration officially launched on October 23. Throughout the month, players can collect candy from three different colored bowls located in the game's plaza. By participating in this annual event, players will unlock this year's exclusive item: Mickey's Halloween Candy Bowl, which can be crafted using five clay and two pieces of candy from each color.

Trick or Treat Returns with Festive Rewards for 2024

While Mickey's Halloween Candy Bowl is the sole new reward for completing missions during this year's event, players can also acquire various Halloween-themed items from past celebrations. These rewards include three styles of Jack-o-Lanterns, unlocked by consuming increasing amounts of candy; a Mickey Mouse Pumpkin, earned by giving candy to 10 different villagers; and a Pumpkin Stack, obtainable by harvesting 100 pumpkins.

Although the Jungle Getaway update didn’t focus primarily on Halloween content as some players had hoped, it nonetheless laid the groundwork for character customization for the holiday event. This update introduced digital replicas of Loungefly backpacks designed after Disney characters, including the adorable Mickey BOO backpack, featuring Mickey Mouse as a ghost under a bedsheet. Players can still claim this charming backpack for free by entering the code DDV2024OOOOO in the Redemption Code section until November 20, 2024.
