The modern survival horror game Crow Country has reached an impressive milestone, surpassing 100,000 copies sold, according to its developer. Most of these sales were through Steam, with additional numbers coming from the PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and the recently released PS4 version.
Inspired by survival horror classics like Silent Hill and the original Resident Evil series, Crow Country pays homage to the genre's roots. The game follows a federal agent as they investigate the eerie mystery surrounding an abandoned amusement park. Players must face terrifying enemies, navigate fixed-camera environments, scavenge for essential resources, and solve puzzles reminiscent of the games that influenced its design.
Crow Country has not only earned high praise from both fans and critics, but has also achieved this remarkable sales figure, as reported by its developer, SFB Games. The indie studio, also known for their hit Snipperclips on Nintendo Switch, celebrated this achievement now that the game is available across all major platforms, including last-gen consoles. With the survival horror genre continuing to grow in popularity, Crow Country’s sales are expected to keep rising.
Tom Vian, co-founder of SFB Games, expressed his excitement over Crow Country's success, sharing how thrilled he is that so many people have embraced the game. He extended a heartfelt thanks to fans for their overwhelming support during the six months since the game’s launch and noted that the timing couldn’t be better, with Halloween just around the corner.
Vian credited Crow Country’s recent Nintendo Switch release as the key factor in pushing the game past the 100,000 sales mark, as it introduced the title to even more players months after its initial release on Steam and other consoles. To celebrate this milestone, SFB Games has partnered with Fangamer to create exclusive Crow Country merchandise, including t-shirts, plushies, and physical copies of the game. These items are set to be available for purchase starting October 29.
Looking ahead, SFB Games has no plans for additional content or further ports for Crow Country, as the team is likely focusing on new projects. However, fans of the survival horror genre have plenty to keep them entertained, with the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake and the recent re-release of the PS2 cult classic Siren on PS5 offering more thrills and chills.
