The launch of Fortnite's Halloween celebration, initially slated for October 11, has been pushed back and is now set to kick off over the weekend. Fans have been eagerly counting down to the arrival of update v31.40, which would introduce the beloved Fortnitemares content. This annual event has captivated players since the Battle Royale mode debuted in 2017, becoming one of the most anticipated highlights of the Fortnite calendar.
Excitement for Fortnitemares was already building, especially after Epic Games teased players with the release of the Saw-themed skin for Billy the Puppet, perfectly setting the Halloween mood. Many players were thrilled when Epic announced that the server downtime for the Fortnitemares patch would begin at 4 AM ET on October 11, eagerly anticipating a return to the game's chilling activities.
However, just hours before the scheduled downtime, Epic Games revealed a slight delay, pushing back the server shutdown by a few hours to finalize details for the Halloween update. Shortly after, they confirmed that the update would be rescheduled for the following day, disappointing many fans who had set alarms to be among the first to dive into the spooky festivities. The new downtime for patch v31.40 will now start on Saturday, October 12, at 2 AM ET.
On the upside, this delay means that Epic Games is committed to delivering an exceptional Fortnitemares experience for players. Exciting content has already been confirmed for Fortnitemares 2024, including new cosmetics inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas, a Leatherface skin, and fresh landmarks to explore. Once the update launches, players are likely to overlook the delay and immerse themselves in the thrilling new in-game activities.
Battle Royale enthusiasts can look forward to classic weapons returning, such as the Pumpkin Launcher, along with fan-favorite spooky skins. The most exciting news for Fortnitemares 2024 is that the event won't be limited to Battle Royale this year. LEGO Fortnite will also feature a Halloween event pass, offering gamers a chance to unlock a host of free rewards.
