Initially revealed during a Nintendo Direct presentation in August 2024, Tetris Forever will function as both a game compilation and a documentary exploring the development and legacy of one of the most beloved puzzle games in gaming history. The original Tetris, created for the Soviet-built Electronika 60 in 1984, only gained widespread fame after its launch on the Game Boy in 1989, where it sold over 35 million copies.

Over the past four decades, more than 220 official versions of Tetris have been released, showcasing its significant impact on the gaming landscape. Digital Eclipse aims to celebrate this rich history with Tetris Forever, a comprehensive collection that includes games and bonus content.

As the game’s release approaches in 2024, Digital Eclipse has revealed the full list of titles featured in Tetris Forever, including several that will be available outside of Japan for the first time. Players can look forward to experiencing everything from the original Electronika 60 version to Tetris Battle Gaiden, a multiplayer battle game first launched on the Super Famicom in 1993.

The lineup also features various iterations of Super Bombliss, known in North America and Europe as Tetris Blast. This title combines the classic gameplay of Tetris with the addition of placing bombs to create rows of falling colored shapes.
