Genshin Impact Announces New Character Skins for Nilou and Kuki Shinobu

Genshin Impact has unveiled two new character skins coming in Version 4.8, with updated looks for Nilou and Kuki Shinobu. Kuki Shinobu's "Phantom in Boots" outfit gives the character a phantom thief-inspired appearance, while Nilou's "Breeze of Sabaa" skin features an elegant, flowing dress. These new cosmetic options will launch alongside the addition of the limited-time Simulanka area and the introduction of the new five-star Dendro character, Emilie.

HoYoverse typically releases two sets of Genshin Impact skins with each new region's cycle, both for Lantern Rite and the region's final update. The developer has developed its own patterns for new skin additions, with each update usually featuring a new skin for one five-star character and one four-star character, often focusing on four-star characters available for free within Genshin Impact. The skin releases are also typically tied to the update's main event, offering a way to earn the four-star character skin as a reward for completion. With just over a week until Version 4.8's launch, HoYoverse is showing off the next patch's featured skins for Nilou and Kuki Shinobu.

The newest "Teyvat Style" skin teaser from HoYoverse, titled "Simulanka's Blessings," showcases Genshin Impact's latest character skins for Nilou and Kuki Shinobu. Kuki Shinobu's "Phantom in Boots" skin envisions the cat-like character in a stylish "phantom thief" aesthetic, featuring an outfit inspired by Fontaine complete with a new hat. Nilou's "Breeze of Sabaa" skin places the dancer in elegant garb, replacing her normal clothes with a flowing blue dress and changing her hairstyle. Both skins will be released with Version 4.8, scheduled to launch on July 17.

While Nilou's new skin in Genshin Impact Version 4.8 does not feature any new animations, Kuki Shinobu's "Phantom in Boots" skin will include a minor change to her Elemental Skill, with the "Urgent Neko Parcel" state donning a "phantom thief" mask. Otherwise, the new skins appear to be limited to updated character models, without any other major animation changes. Players will be able to earn Kuki Shinobu's skin as a free reward for completing the "Summertide Scales and Tales" event in Version 4.8.
