A Message from Jun Maeda

Greetings, everyone. This is Jun Maeda. You may be familiar with the global craze for taiyaki, the traditional Japanese pastry, which was inspired by the visual novel "Kanon." However, do you know the original creator and head writer behind that work? I had the honor of being a sub-writer on that project, and it was Naoki Hisaya who pioneered the trend of "visual novels that make players cry" – a pursuit that I have passionately followed for over 20 years.

The pinnacle of this journey, in my view, is "Heaven Burns Red." While Hisaya employed sophisticated storytelling techniques to evoke tears, I took a more direct approach, and that essence is what I believe defines "Heaven Burns Red." It is a delightful coincidence that this work will be released in places where Hisaya's "Kanon" sparked the taiyaki craze – a connection that feels fated to me. I eagerly look forward to sharing "Heaven Burns Red" with you all and inviting you to experience the culmination of my lifelong passion for crafting deeply emotional visual novel experiences.
