In Season 4 Reloaded of Call of Duty: Warzone, popular weapons have been nerfed, with further updates anticipated in Season 5. Activision remains committed to ongoing updates for Warzone, extending support beyond the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The July 2 update patch notes detail adjustments and nerfs to weapons like the Kastov 762, Kastov 545, Superi 46, FJX Horus, and Kar98k.

Call of Duty: Warzone Update Reduces Power of Popular Weapons

The most recent Call of Duty: Warzone update has nerfed several weapons that dominated the meta in Season 4, notably targeting the widely used Superi 46 submachine gun. This balancing adjustment comes shortly after the start of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 Reloaded on June 26, with further updates anticipated in the upcoming weeks.

Activision continues to update Call of Duty: Warzone with new maps, weapons, and limited-time events, all of which are accessible to all players for free. Soon, 120-player lobbies will be introduced to Warzone, expanding the battlefield. In the latest season, Season 4 Reloaded, Warzone players witnessed the detonation of a dangerous DNA bomb at the Popov Power Plant in Urzikstan. During Season 4 Reloaded's limited-time Mutation Resurgence modes, players can encounter "Redacted" weapons amidst the chaos. However, to maintain balance and fairness among the arsenal, various weapons have been nerfed, prompting players to adapt their loadouts accordingly.

Call of Duty: Warzone Update Reduces Power of Popular Weapons

Activision rolled out a new Warzone update on Tuesday, July 2, addressing several fixes and nerfs affecting popular weapons. The Kastov 762 and Kastov 545 assault rifles from Modern Warfare 2 received a bug fix that corrects iron sight and misaligned optics issues when unequipping the JAK Requiem Conversion Kit. Similarly, the FJX Horus submachine gun's JAK Scimitar Kit underwent a similar adjustment. Notably, the Season 4 Superi 46 submachine gun saw significant nerfs to its damage modifiers for hand, lower torso, and arm areas, reducing them from 1.3x to 1.1x. Additionally, the Kar98k marksman rifle had its arm, leg, and lower torso damage modifiers reduced to 0.95x.

Weapon Balance Consistency Across Warzone and Modern Warfare 3

The recent fixes and adjustments made to the Kastov 762, Kastov 545, and FJX Horus weapons in Warzone have also been applied to the same weapons in the upcoming Modern Warfare 3 title. This means that Warzone players who enjoy transitioning between the two games can expect a consistent overall weapon performance and balance. Additionally, the Reclaimer 18 shotgun in Warzone is expected to remain a top performer in the meta, maintaining its status across both Warzone and Modern Warfare 3.

Evolving Warzone Meta and Future Plans

The Warzone meta will continue to evolve throughout the remainder of Season 4 Reloaded, with more balance updates anticipated in Season 5 and beyond as new weapons are introduced to the game. Importantly, Activision and Treyarch have confirmed that Warzone support will continue even after the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 this October. More details about the future of Warzone, as well as new information about Black Ops 6, will be revealed at the upcoming Call of Duty NEXT event scheduled for August.
