Epic Games is gearing up for the upcoming Fortnite Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration, with the developers consistently hinting at what players can expect. Recently, they took to their social media channels to drop more clues. Now, the studio has released a new teaser image confirming that Pirate Cannons, a beloved element from Fortnite Chapter 1, Season 8, will be making a return as part of this exciting collaboration.
The image builds on the previously released teaser confirming the return of the Flint-Knock Pistol. This further completes the map, leaving space for two more items likely to be revealed in the lead-up to the Fortnite Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration.
The presence of Pirate Cannons was previously hinted at by their appearance in the leaked Shipwreck Shallows landmark, a POI set to debut with the Fortnite Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration. The weapon's return will undoubtedly enhance the upcoming crossover. While Chapter 5 Season 3 has been dominated by advanced machinery, the Pirate Cannon will offer a simpler yet effective mode of transportation amidst the sea of modified vehicles. For those who remember, Pirate Cannons weren't just used to shoot flaming projectiles; they also allowed players to climb in and launch themselves.
Players could then use them as projectiles, soaring through the air and landing with a force that could even inflict damage. In contrast to the Flint-Knock Pistol, which underwent a stealth update at the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, the Pirate Cannons have remained mostly unchanged since their initial introduction. Therefore, they are expected to function similarly to their mechanics in Chapter 1 Season 8.
As the Fortnite Pirates of the Caribbean collaboration approaches, the Pirate Cannons are poised to perfectly embody the nautical theme of this highly anticipated crossover.
