Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice Coming Soon to Mobile

Top mobile developer and publisher Com2uS, known for popular games like Summoners War and MLB 9 Innings, has partnered with NetEase to bring the critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic city-builder Frostpunk to mobile devices worldwide. Titled Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice, this new mobile iteration aims to recreate the authentic survival experience of the iconic PC/console game on smartphones and tablets.  

Frostpunk transported players to a Victorian-inspired world engulfed by an endless winter after a catastrophic climate shift. As the new leader of one of the last cities standing, players had to manage scarce resources and crucial infrastructure to prevent societal collapse in the face of the unrelenting cold. Garnering over 3 million sales since 2018, Frostpunk crafted an immersive narrative through tough leadership decisions and atmospheric environmental challenges.

Now in development by 11 Bit Studios and NetEase, Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice faithfully reimagines this gripping survival simulation for mobile. Players once again take charge of a steam-powered city as it struggles to endure in the icy wastelands. Resources must be gathered, workers assigned, and buildings like generators and hothouses raised to satisfy citizens' basic needs. However, new community-focused features like redesigned guild systems and trading have been added to enrich the solo gameplay experience.

Guilds will let players band together to complete special co-op missions for buffs and rewards. A marketplace allows scarce resources to be traded between friends, creating interdependency. Rare animal rescues have also been included for more dynamic progression. Graphics and touch controls have been customized for an optimized mobile interface without compromising the essence of Frostpunk.

No official release date has been announced yet, but Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice is slated to soft launch worldwide as a free download on iOS and Android. With Com2uS' proven track record publishing acclaimed titles and NetEase's development experience, the successful transition of Frostpunk's survival city-building to smartphones looks highly promising. Mobile players can soon face the brutal challenges of keeping humanity alive in an unforgiving frozen world.
