This game used to be great in its original form. it was fast and responsive, exactly what you need in a timed, competitive game. After the recent "makeover" update, it performs horribly. Half the letters swiped will not register unless you slow down to a snail pace, all for the sake of needless animations and visuals. This causes the original multiplayer mode (i.e. the real game) to be worthless. This is 1 star until they fix or revert. Don't bother until they do.

I really like Wordament. I'm 81 years old and it keeps my vocabulary sharp. It is appreciated as I've started losing my ability to spell some words, and struggle to find the right words. It's mild cognitive deficit. I use the 'Medium' and I find the five letter words are the most difficult when there are no (s's) in the squares. I often give up in defeat. At times, it also becomes monotonous because I'm using the same words to satisfy the challenge. That means I'm retaining them, too.

I enjoy the simple but varied gameplay options. Daily challenges, map-style progression, multiplayer, and timed modes ensure that I can jump in for a quick game or settle down for a longer section without getting bored. I wish that the daily challenges had more variety instead of just the "collect x gems in y moves" that I have seen so far. I also think the interface and graphics could use an upgrade. Visually, I feel like this is a game I would have played on my PC in 2001. Also, the multiplayer is simply a case of comparing your score to other players and not any kind if 1 on 1 versus mode.

New version is overloaded rubbish. It was such a nice, addictive, two-minute game.. Now it loads game slowly, hangs, new blinking color scheme is annoying, real game is hidden among useless other options, so it takes time to switch it on. "Achievements and challenges" - idiotic. Time to stop playing, unless you can bring back the nice simplicity of the original. And the translations of options are automatic.. Speed round=predkosc okrągła. You are pathetic... Statistics in extended form are gone, flags are gone..

Extremely disappointed at what began as a great game. 95% through level 55 and the game shut off. Took 2 attempts to reopen and when it did, all progress on that level was gone. For a developer like Microsoft it is pretty shoddy. Uninstalling. No second chances from me. Oh yes and the ads are over the top. Their Solitaire collection was better though too repetitive in the end.

Fun game, allows a lot of words, almost impossible to find them all which is great. Can get a bit samey, (only so many word/letter combinations) but lots of levels. Unfortunately there are adverts between each level/game, and you don't get to exit the level when you choose, it automatically exits you when you complete the 3 goals of that level. You can go back to it, but that requires another advert.

It is a great, challenging and fun game. However, at the end of doing all the puzzles there are no more things to do. Mini crosswords ended way too soon and multiplayer is way too hard for me. I have done some of the other puzzles that let you choose easy, medium or hard but those aren't the same. No bonuses or anything. Was only happy with the game the first 10 to 15 puzzles.

The game itself is so-so, fun to play every once in awhile. The game itself is repetitive except for the dailies which are challenging. The three levels of ads are annoying. And that $10 only gets you one year of ad-free is just mystifying. The 30-second non-skippable ads are annoying and come way too often. I would have expected better from Microsoft. Nonetheless it's fun for a boggle-type game, though I'm keeping my eye out for something less annoying.

The original Wordament was a much better game before Microsoft changed it. Now there are too many ads and there's too little enjoyment. You can't compete with others, it's not timed to increase the difficulty, and it looks too much like one of those ridiculous candy crush or toonblast games. It's really unfortunate because this was a great game before.
