Introducing the Microsoft Authenticator, your all-in-one solution for securely verifying your online identity across all of your accounts. With a range of features designed to protect your information, this app goes beyond simple password protection. Through two-step verification, you'll have an extra layer of security, requiring an additional proof of identity after entering your password. Phone sign-in takes it a step further, allowing you to access your account with just your phone. And for organizations that prioritize device registration, this app seamlessly allows you to register your trusted device.
* Two-step verification: This feature adds an extra layer of security by requiring an additional verification step, such as approving a notification or entering a generated code, after entering your password.
* Phone sign-in: With phone sign-in, you can conveniently access your personal Microsoft account by simply approving a notification on your phone, eliminating the need to enter your password.
* Device registration: For added security, some organizations may require you to register your device before accessing certain files, emails, or apps. Microsoft Authenticator makes this process easy and seamless.
* App consolidation: The app replaces multiple apps, including Azure Authenticator, Microsoft account, and Multi-Factor Authentication apps, making it a one-stop solution for all your authentication needs.
* Enable two-step verification for all your accounts to enhance their security. This will ensure that even if someone gets hold of your password, they won't be able to access your accounts without an additional verification step.
* Take advantage of phone sign-in to simplify the login process for your personal Microsoft account. It saves time and eliminates the hassle of entering passwords.
* If you're part of an organization that requires device registration, use this app to complete the process quickly and easily. This will ensure that your sign-in requests are recognized as trustworthy.

This app is horrible. I downloaded it because i thought it would help me, but it did not. I had added one work account to it and one personal account to it. The personal account works just fine, but the work account does not. I had forgotten my password once and tried to login using authenticator, but NONE of the Microsoft login pages provide the option for using the authenticator for signing into work accounts. What is the point of making an authenticator app if you are not gonna implement it.

Garbage I'm forced to use. The app did NOT successfully back up and restore from my old phone to my new phone. I've tried restoring again, but the app now tells me that my accounts don't exist. I can't access them anywhere else because the two-factor authentication has been set up through this app that won't function. There is NO article that helps (there are separate articles for these issues, which did not solve my problem) and I can't access a human to ask for help.

It's unbelievable how many problems this ridiculous app cause! So many bugs! Often gets stuck in cycles even with their own apps like Skype! No instructions or support for the phone upgrade situation caused so much drama!! 160mb??? Very intrusive data harvest and constant tricks to just get it, hate it! Only have this as I have no choice.

I figured it out I had to add Microsoft authenticator app as one of my Device Administrations for it to work. If you're having a problem getting the code back from Microsoft administrative app check your junk mail because it will end up there. Well I finally got it up and running.

I use this only to sign in to work accounts and every time is makes it as disruptive as possible, will request a code to be sent to my phone, no notification, have to open authenticator manually and refresh the page twice to receive it again. No availability to swap it to normal 2fa time based sign in which would be much simpler, they're trying to hard to be sophisticated and it's making the app worse

Microsoft has The WORST customer support i've ever encountered. If i could add negative stars, they would have the max negative stars available. They shouldn't be allowed to sell products if they can't support them. I've been locked out of my account for 1 month and get nothing but the runaround everytime I speak to a support technician, but to get to that person be prepared to be on hold for 1-2 hrs. In the meantime, they keep on taking my money no problem whatsoever! POS!

Awful. How are you supposed to sign in to your accounts if you have authenticate the authentication app. With what? Hope? This is ridiculous. You're told to clear cache, restart your phone, and remove the account. It still doesn't work. It worked just fine a few months ago. Whatever has been changed has buggered it.

The pop up notification with the number to log into my accounts on my devices just stopped. My app is update and every single time I have to go into the app, the fingerprint unlock takes forever to appear, then I have to use the verification code as the number authentication pop never shows. It's such a hassle to log into my accounts! Very annoying the pop up isn't there.

It's incredibly frustrating that in order to use Teams, you're required to download additional software. It's akin to buying a car but being told you need to purchase the keys separately just to enter it. Annoying and inconvenient.
