I've tried a few gps apps and 18birdies is my favourite. It has the nicest interface for planning your shot with decently high resolution images of the holes. I also enjoy the scorecard and stat tracking after every hole, giving you an idea of your strengths and weaknesses after a round. It does everything I want it to do. Wholly recommend.

The company behind this app is doing everything so well. I've had the app 5 years now and over time they have been releasing features for free that were previously behind a paywall. For example, the distance shot tracker. They still gotta make money, so some premium features require payment to access. But for purely enjoying the game with, this app has more than what you need with its free basic version. I can only hope one day they come out with a feature to track a tee shot in the air.

Unsure if this is a problem local to only my phone (Google Pixel 3) or systemic, but as of 8/30, every time I go to enter a score for a hole while I'm a playing a round, the app closes. I was unable to enter a score the entire round, even though I uninstalled an reinstalled the app. I did not have this same problem on 8/29. Tried restarting the phone, the app, everything. Any insight?

I have used 18Birdies for 6 years and 160 events for our group of 23 golfers. We use it to track Gross & Net Scores, establish real time Leaderboard Standings and Skins based upon Gross and Net Scores. The app has made significant improvements during the past 6 years. Functions such as entering and correcting scores, updating handicaps, and grouping players is much easier now. 18Birdies Support is very good about updating course Slope/Rating quickly. This situation wouldn't exist if they could tap into USGA Slope/Ratings system. The downside to that is if you don't compare scorecard slope/rating to 18Birdies, it will calculate incorrect handicaps. Unfortunately the handicap feature doesn't conform to USGA handicap guidelines, therefore it's unusable for tournament play. As a result, I have to make sure everyone has entered their correct GHIN handicap. The main drawback to 18Birdies centers on inability to make changes to Tournament Settings once a round begins/ends. For example, handicaps and scoring errors cannot be updated after the round ends. 18Birdies continues to make significant improvements that have made the app more user friendly during a tournaments.

18 birdies is the best app for keeping track of your score and scouting your next hole. Love how easy it is to keep track of how many chips, putts, and penalties throughout the round. Although today i had constant crashes whenever i try to enter the score. I uninstalled and restarted my phone but when i reinstalled i was having the same issue. First problem I've had. Hopefully if its a bug it can be fixed asap.

I love this app. Great help providing accurate yardage to the green and other hazards. It's as accurate as my friends 300$ gps systems and ranges finders. The only issue is sometimes the screen locks while in the middle of a hold and it soon resolved. Also i wish they would bring back the note pad for keeping optional notes to keep a running history. One day the note pad disappeared and a solid strike option to track great hits showed up and replaced the pad. Grrr, lost all of my history.

I only use the free version to track scores. The stats that are available are pretty neat. Even the yardage GPS is pretty accurate! Recently, the app was having issues logging scores. I emailed 18Birdies' customer service/support and received an answer within 15 minutes. Great app and great service. I would highly recommend this app for golfers of all skills. There is a lot you can learn about the game and yourself.

So I have a very love/hate relationship with this app. There are many pros to using it, but there are also a few area that could be improved on. Pros: 1) 18birdies is the only app I found with a selection for which Tee and what holes you are playing. 2) built in coaching and analysis 3) shot tracking and custom club selection. Improves: 1) no watch integration 2) GPS slow to update, 3) no handicap generation algorithm, 4) too many push notifications (can be turned off through Android)
