Really great concept, shaky execution. The app is wonderful....when it works. It has become very glitchy, randomly just turning off constantly. I also wish it would save your viewing place when searching through options. If you go back, it takes you to the beginning of your search. Lastly, I also would like the video to show the episode you're currently viewing when tapped, instead of having to go back and, well, I already went into all that.

It's okay. The app itself is great, when it works. I can't always get it to connect to my tv, causing me to have to restart my firestick, sometimes multiple times. My biggest gripe is the fast forwarding and rewinding. You can only skip by 10 seconds at a time, which is great when you want to just hear a joke over again, but you can't hold it down and fast forward. Which makes pausing a pain because as soon as the screen saver comes on, you've lost your spot. Also, no closed captions?

I'm not able to get the VidAngel app on my TV but am able to screenshare on my phone. The biggest problem is the subtitles are both 30 seconds delayed and incomplete. This makes foreign film watching basically impossible. Second, when sharing my phone, I'm not able to match the full screen on my TV, so the video size is a lot smaller than what it should be.

Updated....App had several issue. Had. Now the app has been working for several weeks without issue, so I felt I needed to add an update. All the features have been working flawless. Starting movies, connecting through Roku, even purchasing rentals from Amazon. Only thing you must remember, the IP of the Roku must be similar to your router. I know they were re-adding the app to Roku, so I would recommend this to everyone.

Great filtering service. Please fix the app so that it will actually connect to more TV. As it is the app is junk and I have to spend as much time rigging my TV and computer and multiple service logins as I do watching a program. I have been paying for multiple accounts for several years to support your cause but the technical difficulties are tiring.

I have to agree with some others. I really want to love the app as much as I love the idea of it but there are way too many issues that lead to frustration. There is no flow between episodes, the app constantly freezes, crashes itself or OUR PHONES, where have to do a hard shutdown (or just turns off), and I have issues with casting. Sounds like there are bugs that need to be worked out and maybe a way for it flow from one episode to the next (after download) without stopping in between.

Vidangel is a really good idea and I appreciate it. It's allowed my family to enjoy a lot of movies we would not have otherwise watched. It made us realize how much senselessness is in a lot of movies as you often have to go line by line to block it out. That being said, the app is extremely glitchy. There are a lot of movies that will just bump you out or won't load.Sometimes it takes nearly a half hour to get a movie to play because the app is acting squirrely and reloading makes no difference. The Vidangel group is not very prompt to change the designations for a lot of movies (at least on Amazon). I have Amazon Prime and Amazon Starz and I find probably a dozen movies a month that are available on one of those, that Vidangel has available, but can't play them because of the way Vidangel categorizes movies. It's extremely frustrating to be paying for two apps to watch a movie and still not being able to watch them even when they're available. Vidangel's tech support has historically been very prompt about fixing most of the issues I discussed, has not been responding recently.

Worked fine on my Samsung Galaxy S9+ except for casting issues here and there and if you paused and your phone went into sleep mode even for a second when you went to hit play it would crash and would have to start all over again it needs some work to be as good an app as Netflix but ok⁷....but I just got a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and it crashes immediately and won't let me open the app. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still the same. It works fine on my wife's Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Love this idea, not functional. The quality is quite diminished when watching a movie on this app vs. If I watched it straight from the streaming app itself. Not sure why that is since it goes through that app to play it. It sometimes looks like I'm watching a bootleg version of the movie. Also it is so hard to scroll all the way to pick a movie and then when you back out it takes you all the way to the very beginning of all the selections, instead of where you left off. Wastes a lot of time.
