FrameDesign is a powerful app specifically designed for civil engineers, mechanical engineers, architects, and students who are looking to design 2D hyperstatic frames using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). With this app, users can easily input and edit geometry, forces, supports, and loadcases to create accurate simulations. The calculations are performed in real-time, providing instant results. The app includes a wide range of features such as different types of loads, connections at beam ends, various supports in any direction, and the ability to add or edit materials and sections. Additionally, users can analyze moment, shear, stress, deflection, reaction forces, and perform unity checks. For those interested in being part of the latest FrameDesign developments, there is an opportunity to become a Beta Tester. Additionally, a web version of FrameDesign is also available on framedesign.letsconstruct.nl.
* Geometry Input and Editing: Users can input and edit the geometry of their frame designs. This allows for precise customization and ensures accurate calculations.
* Load Input: The app supports various load types, including F (force), T (torque), and q (rectangular and triangular loads). This versatility allows users to accurately simulate real-life scenarios.
* Beam Connections: Users can choose from fixed and hinge connections at beam ends. This feature helps them accurately model the behavior and performance of their frames under different conditions.
* Support Options: The app offers various support types, including fixed, hinge, roller, and spring supports in any direction. This allows users to accurately represent the external forces acting on their frames and analyze their impact.
* Material and Section Editing: Users can add or edit materials and sections for their frame designs. This feature enables them to select the most suitable materials and sections for optimal performance and efficiency.
* Load Cases and Combinations: The app supports load cases and load combinations, including safety factors. This allows users to simulate different scenarios and analyze the behavior of their frames under various conditions.
In conclusion, this app provides user-friendly platform for designing 2D hyperstatic frames using Finite Elements Analysis. With its comprehensive features, users can easily input and edit geometry, load inputs, beam connections, support options, materials, and sections. They can also analyze various load cases and combinations, providing valuable insights into the performance and behavior of their frame designs. Need more controls in profile and material. Like adding a profile with custom moment of inertia. We cant do that in steel profile, we have to pick or draw the profile. And more often, for education purpose, we need the answers in 123.6/EI format (material & profile independent answers). Please please please.

This is a great app for me as a student, but I think it has a few flaws which can easily be improved. 1) Better Open/Save menu. I want to be able to rename a project/structures and remove them at will so I can have it organized well. 2) Desktop version has a lot of bugs. You can't change your node start and end point. When you try to go to feedback page it opens a blank page. Thank you for this wonderful app I really hope you keep improving it.
