Hundreds of users are complaining, because this useless app crashes immediately if you try to mirror your screen or cast anything from Google Chrome to it. It is very clear, that this doesn't work at all. How can Google ignore a problem like this for month???

Unfortunately, whenever (and as soon as) I try to cast something from Google Photos (tried with 3 different phones, of different brands, running different Android versions), I get an instant crash of Google Cast Receiver. Unfortunately #2, the very same thing happens whenever I try to cast a tab from my (desktop) browser with the latest version of the Cast extension installed. In my experience, of all cast-enabled applications that I have seen so far, only Youtube and Netflix seem to work. With a "real" (hardware) Chromecast (that I can use only when I visit my mom), none of these limitations occur and I can use all the apps without the "Google Cast Receiver stopped" message. I have posted photos and videos on Google+, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram trying to show the issues that I'm seeing to Google employees and I have only been met with silence. I ALWAYS submit reports with logs whenever the application crashes (and always the same steps trigger the problem). I'm doing my homework to solve the problem, but this is a defective product. I regret purchasing a TV that was advertised as an Android TV, since I paid a premium for this, I can't return it and it works so poorly.

Crashes all the time. This App seems to freeze up alot on my Sony Android TV. At least a reset of the App fixes the problem, but I have to do this way too often.
