I use this for tax season and homework...its perfect. I use it all the time but on where I need to get a lot done and can't seem to focus I grab my headphones and put it in focus mode and it is the best thing ever. Within about 15 to 20 minutes I am in go mode. I haven't used the other selections but focus is amazing!!! So I can only imagine the other selections are amazing as well !!!

I very much enjoy this app - love the tracks, especially the focus and destress ones (Ice Worlds on repeat is an absolute stress tranquilizer) - unfortunately, as of the last couple of days, the app has not opened for me! It starts up and immediately crashes. I've attempted an uninstall and reinstall, reboot, etc. No avail as of yet. I'm using a Galaxy Note 10+ if that helps anything! Despite that, Brain.fm is a five-star system in my book. Thank you all for what you do!

Works fine for focus. And I've found some nice relax pieces I often use. But I think you should really go through the Destress pieces and remove any pieces obviously not relaxing. Example: Open Skies: it starts with terrible transient sounds where I picture a maniac banging a broken piano. The absolute opposite of destress. Also: there is a defect where it ignores looping a piece sometimes and instead starts playing the next song. Don't know how to trigger it, it occurs every now and then.

Somehow the app is getting even worse?!?! I can't change the duration of a session before starting. (This is important for controlling the recents menu.) I JUST did a clean reinstall two days ago. Edit: Also, the notification for the app stays even after music stops playing. When I swipe the app away in my recents, the notification stays in my drawer. I can't get rid of the notification without force stopping the app.

App does what it promises. Sometimes within seconds I am in the zone. One glitch: sometimes after I stopped using it it keeps playing every time I play a song, watch a video, do a phone call or do anything that activates the audio. so I have to manually stop it every time and I can't get it to stop at times. needless to say, this is a bit annoying. Otherwise the app is great. I suggest that for meditations you have themes like to reduce anxiety, gratitude, confidence, focus on mindfulness, etc.

This is a phenomenal app. It really does work. Since the revamp of the user interface on desktop and mobile its much easier to use. I use this mainly for deep work, but do also use it for afternoon naps and meditating, it works in all areas. There is also a lot more variety now in the music. Keep up the good work Brain.FM. I would highly recommend this app.

I love the incredible music collection available in this app. For as long as I can remember, I've been looking for an app like this in the Play Store. However, it never came up in searches. Thanks to producthunt,I found this gem hiding in plainsight! However, it would be nice if you could introduce a student plan that takes into account the currency exchange rate. I'm compelled to utilise an unlocked apk version of this app thatI found online because the membership plan is too expensive.

Lot of small things make it deserve a one-star rating. UI needs work to be more intuitive. Music selection needs to be better. Trial is far too short and counts days/time you don't use. Price is too high, you can get netflix for same. Most importantly, I didn't notice a difference in mental state beyond listening to regular classic, jazz, etc. This app needs more development time, better navigation, more features (yet be simple), a slightly limited free version, with an impulse-buy tier pricing.

I like the app overall and it seems to be effective, but 3 of my 5 free sessions had difficulty staying connected to the internet, and the constant pausing defeats the purpose of the app. My other streaming apps don't have issues so it appears to be specific to this one. I'd probably buy it if this issue was resolved and I was able to confirm it, but I dont want to pay for an app that doesn't work properly. Edit:Taking off another star since they aren't responding to emails but continue to spam.

I love this app! I'm a writer and sometimes focus doesn't seem to be in the cards. Using the focus music (forest focus seems to work best for me) within 5 minutes my focus is vastly impoved. I get caught up in the work and accomplish so much! Customer service has been great as well. When I had questions the replies were prompt and they were a huge help. Thanks for such a great app!

Update: app much improved. The science here is AMAZING - it really does as it claims with longer, deeper focus, de-stressing and calming nerves, and sleep comes quick and easy. Im constantly stuck once i start a session though - unable to skip tracks or choose an alternate genre or adjust the nueral level... its frustrating. Very. & no new tracks.

The core functionality is good but the app could be a lot better. For example I would really like to be able to set a custom session duration and a simple way to restart sessions (as opposed to restarting the entire app). Also it's really counterintuitive that you need to slide out the menu instead of pressing the hamburger icon in the top right. Finally I had login and logout in the app for it to recognize I had bought a subscription.

Great music. I can feel the effects. App has improved considerable compared to the initial release. The library section needs an upgrade. Song tracks are not separated by purpose, besides the general categories of focus, relax and sleep. Meaning that if you want one of your liked creativity tracks, you need to look at all the focus tracks in order to find it. Personalized playlists or an "add to queue" option may be a good add-on in order to create your own mixed sessions.

EDIT: Any good feeling about this app is completely negated by how extremely difficult it has been to try and cancel my account. I have contacted them four times over the course of a couple of months and have heard nothing back, and my account is still active (the yearly membership that I am paying for). ------------------------- I will probably discontinue paying for this even though the sounds/variety are quite good. If there weren't so many issues with loading, buffering, etc., I would have absolutely given this 5 stars and continued paying for it (also disappointed that they got rid of the guided meditation).

I've had this app for years now. When it works, it's incredible. Unfortunately, the app is so buggy. I can't interact with the UI half the time (can't favorite, can't change time, etc) and when I'm able to favorite it doesn't pay any attention to the time. Ex: Set a relaxing rain sound for an hour but after 15 min it stops that track and starts a completely different track. It constantly wakes my little boy up from a peaceful nap. This app has never been bug free. I expect paid apps to work.

Great idea, music seems to work. However, the app has quite basic problems. Often it skips / buffers or even just stops playing completely and you have to restart the app. During the focus session this does not really improve focus. Also, UI strangely seems to lack stop button, so if you need to get rid of a running session in notification bar, you have to kill the whole app.

Working from home during this PHE has found me struggling to stay focused. Brain FM is exactly what I've been looking for. Radio music gets me too distracted, and I find it hard to focus on the reading and research needed to do my job right. I may find one song, but then the next I have to skip. With Brain FM, it's all good listening, great beats, and it helps me stay focused. Try the free trial for 3 days and see if it works for you too.

UPDATE: I *think* there was a setting that was causing that to happen. Once it was changed it stopped doing the crazy stuff. FIVE STARS. I love it and am using it daily for work. Going to start using it at night too. ORIGINAL REVIEW: It keeps randomly starting on its own which is creepy! It also sometimes just stops. Other than that I would love it and give it 5 stars but until they fix it I'm giving it one.
